This site is dedicated to everyone who has heard God’s call to bring good news to the poor. They have identified with Jesus’ mission to proclaim freedom to the oppressed, to give sight to the blind and to release those in bondage (Luke 4:18).
They realize their own need and pray, “I am poor and needy. Lord, remember me. You are my help and deliverer; you are my God, do not delay” (Psalm 40:17). They heard Jesus say, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give your rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentile and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-29).
They understand that the poor and oppressed in this world are often blinded by the spirit of this world and thus look to this world for a solution to their suffering. In their pride the poor can easily cling to the little dignity that they have and refuse to surrender to the God who made them and who proved his love for them by sending his Son to die for them (Romans 5:8). So, in their ignorance they are following a road that leads to eternal destruction.
Those who bear witness to Jesus have come to know that he is the light of the world (John 8:12). They have confessed their sin and sought forgiveness (1 John 1:8). They know that the kingdom of heaven belongs to those who are poor in spirit (Matthew 5:3).
